Good recap JJ. Losing some leadership if Toews, CC, and Seabrook. Hopefully some other guys like Kruger, Rasmussen, Hammer, Hossa (who obviously was leading last night) can motivate the young, cobbled squad.

Any chance we can pluck Rieder from the Yotes?

Guessing Seabs will enter the concussion protocol. Unfortunately, it's not his first trip there, so he potentially miss a few games.

Hossa is a freak. Dude is playing like he is 10 years younger. Still say he is the best FA signing in Chicago sports history.

Anyone know if 19's injury happened during the World Cup or is this just from a game this season?

What's been the cost savings to the cap so far with Toews and Crawford out?

only the the ones are LTIR, the ones on IR have no effect. either way if the put them on LTIR they cannot add a player with $$$ anyway. unless they are hurt the rest of the season.

Richard Panik was a force, and probably the Hawks best forward not named Hossa. He has wheels and has been using his speed/size combo to create offense off the rush, along the wall, and in the blue paint. I think Q should put 14 back up with Hossa and see is they can develop a Slovakian connection on a new 2nd line with Krugs. I really like the jump and intensity in Panik's game over the last week+

JJ you described it perfectly. I think the confidence gained in the win will be a good thing for the younger players. While not the toughest test, Arizona is a team that the Hawks need to beat and they did. Job done and move on with the 2 points in hand.

Panik has been solid, much like he was at the start of the season. Very happy with his game and he's a solid 3RW.

While they did play very well, it was against a particularly weak team. True test of what they can accomplish with injuries on Friday with the Rangers.

I don't want Seabs out for any games, but a silver lining if he does have to miss a few is that it forces Q to separate 2 and 4, who continue to play like poop together

Problem is both guys are better on the right and prefer to play there. Dunno if it is a deal killer, but that's just how it seems. I agree Panik was very noticeable a lot of the game and seems to have rediscovered his edge the last few games.

The Hawks will probably play less than .500 hockey in December. They will probably drop to 3rd or 4th (or lower) in the conference. Fans and posters will panic and scream for personnel moves to be made. The FO will not do anything rash. Everyone knows that they could use a 1LW. But they are near the cap and would have to be really creative to acquire a highly skilled LW.

The goaltending has been terrific and should keep them in most games. The defense is the best and deepest we have seen 1 though 8, Campbell, Forsling, Kempny, TVR, and Rosival seem to slowly be getting better. The young forwards have played well enough to merit a little more time, particularly Hartman. Panik, Desjardins and Tootoo, Rasmussen have flaws, but I am ok with them in the lineup. While the 3rd and 4th lines are not scoring much they are all playing a 200' game and they are not giving up much either. The imminent return of Toews, Seabs, and Crow is important (and uncertain and concerning).

There are some rocky times ahead. So strap yourself in and enjoy the ride.

I still can't believe Kane was able to score from that angle.

Hossa wont be coming off the RW EVER so put him at LW and see if he can be nearly as effective at LW as he was to start the year with 19+81. Yotes looked like an AHL team last night. Did Domi and Duclair even touch the puck?

From everything I have read, Toews return is far from imminent.

If only Panik played with that physicality, jump and edge game in and game out. I am not sure if it is effort or matchups or coincidence. The inconsistency in Panik's game must be maddening for Q.

So the hiccup with trading TVR is that the Hawks would then not be compliant with the expansion rules (unless that trade included someone on defense who had played has much as him the last two seasons). TVR is the only player on defense in their system who meets the 40/70 rule who doesn't also have a NMC.

If we're going to go into the time machine and complain, my biggest complaint is never getting a #4 defenseman last year, it was our most glaring hole, for Christ sake we traded bad parts for bad parts and ended up with Scuderi and Ehrhoff.

I see Moose and think boy he's really improved from last year to this year, same with Hartman, and just think if we kept Denault how much better out bottom 6 would look, bad trade especially since Weise and Fleisch didn't really contribute in the post season.

Then brings me to how valuable Shaw was to this team, we have no one with his tenacity, wait we traded him to Montreal, willing to engage, willing to endure punishment while screening the goalie and do it night in and night out.

Let's forget the LW issue, just think how much better this team would have looked with Shaw, Danault, and TT on it

So the training continues for the kids unfortunately muscle mass won't begin until the season is over. Yes I'm saying this team is to light to compete inn the areas that matter, front of the net and along the boards.
